You have just opened the Mommy Files…
…a collection of classified notations for you, the Mommy.
And…since you are still reading this highly sensitive material, you must be the Mommy… and what a highly priviledged and blessed personage you are to have been given your dear ones to love and to care for!
Yes, so BLESSED, even if you currently have very little time to yourself, and even if you are are, at times, somewhat sleep deprived, or working to complete many tasks at once, or talking to multiple children at the same time.
And even though your title is afforded to many a female with offspring, you are a unique Mommy, and uniquely called as a believer in Jesus, to give divine wisdom and counsel to your own little ones… or middle-sized ones, or big ones, as the case may be. With God’s help you can effectively train up and raise up strong and confident men and women for Him –children, then adults, who love God, who know who they are in Christ, and who will not be sucked into the world, but will stand out and stand up for Jesus and draw others to His kingdom. In my mind, that’s the ultimate goal.
And who am I? …a Mommy like you. For these last 34 years, I have been blessed to spend days and months and years loving and raising babies, and preschoolers, and teenagers. From diapers to driver’s licenses, from crayons to college, I’ve been on the Mommy Special Forces team – (a Mommy who loves Jesus and wants to raise great children for Him), and I’m still homeschooling one, and encouraging our three other adult children to continue walking with Jesus as they navigate life.
Here in the Mommy Files, it’s also my privilege to cheer you on! Although the Mommy assignment in today’s world is not a job for the faint of heart, with Christ for you and working in you, there is much grace on your life to succeed! (If you need to know more about giving your life to Jesus and having His help 24/7, look here.)
So…Your assignment today, should you choose to accept it, looks like this:
- Sit down, take a deep breath, and thank God for your child, or each of your children by name. (This step can come with your very own hot cup of tea, or putting up your feet, etc., as time allows.)
- Next, lay all of your worries about each child, whether it’s thumbsucking, or social media issues, or anything in between, at the feet of Jesus. He cares for your children, watchfully and diligently. Let Him do His part. Write down the concerns/needs you’re taking to Jesus. (Download the Mommy Files Journal pages here)
- Now, ask Him to show you His wisdom about this issue that He already has the answer and help and provision for. Is there something that you are supposed to do to partner with His provision?
- Keeping believing that His words from His Word are true and working in your life, and thank Him like you already have the answer.
- Don’t be surprised when you get understanding about how to handle the current Mommy issue. That’s your faithful Jesus answering your prayer. 🙂
Your encouragement scriptures and promise from God’s Word today are these:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5
“I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.” – Phil. 4:13

“The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” – Psalms 121:5-8
Spoken Thanksgiving to God:
Lord, thank you that you give me wisdom for my family and for my children. I know that you are my own loving heavenly Father and that you love my children even more than I do. I believe you are giving me Your wisdom and strength to parent my children well for Your glory. I thank you for your wisdom and understanding for each of my children. And I thank You that You are working wonderfullly in each of their lives, that you are keeping them and watching over our entire family at all times.
I’m praying blessings over you and yours today,
Melinda
